# Newton schedules next round of street closures for slurry seal project

The city of Newton will close several streets for eight to 10 hours a day starting Tuesday, Aug. 18, for the [next phase of its slurry seal resurfacing project](https://www.citizenjournal.us/newton-streets-scheduled-for-slurry-seal-closures-starting-tuesday/). The work, running from 7 a.m. daily through Thursday, covers portions of Sharps Drive, Cherry Hills Drive and Mockingbird Lane, as well as all of Cedar Drive. Affected residents will receive a door notice one business day in advance and must move their vehicles before the closures begin or face towing at their own expense.
