# Newton residents face road closures, potential towing during street resurfacing

NEWTON, Kan. — Newton residents must relocate their parked vehicles and prepare for eight- to 10-hour road closures as city crews apply a new [slurry seal](https://www.citizenjournal.us/newton-announces-street-closures-for-slurry-seal-project/) surface on Wednesday and Thursday. Work begins at 7 a.m. each day on designated sections of Heather Lane, Brookside Drive, Ash Street and Southwest Fifth Street.
