Newton Public Library is accepting waitlist registrations from authors interested in participating in its second Local Author Day on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 223 E. Seventh St.

As of Oct. 1, the library’s [event page](https://www.newtonplks.org/authorday/?ref=citizenjournal.us) says author tables are full and directs interested writers to an online waitlist in case a registered author drops out.

At 11 a.m., Emily Christensen and Ted Ayres will lead “Getting Your Book Noticed: A Conversation with Local Media.”

Christensen is co-founder and managing editor of [The SHOUT](https://www.shoutwichita.com/about/?ref=citizenjournal.us), a Wichita-based independent newsroom covering arts and culture in Wichita and surrounding communities. Ayres is a writer and host of PBS Kansas’ “Inside the Cover.”

The author fair will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

During the author fair, attendees may browse books, talk with authors, and discover local titles.

For author-related questions, contact Sam Jack at sjack@newtonplks.org or call the library at 316-283-2890.
