Ada Lovelace (b. 1815), daughter of mathematician Anne Milbanke, the "Princess of Parallelograms," is celebrated as the first computer programmer. Raised by her mother after her parents' separation, she received a rare education in math and science. Her visionary work on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine laid the foundation for modern computing.
