#motivationmonday 132

William Knudsen, immigrant to the US, rose from factory worker to president of General Motors. FDR appointed him Director of the Office of Production Management. He led the conversion of American factories to military production. He earned a lieutenant general commission—the only civilian directly appointed at such a high rank - and the nickname "the big Viking”.
