# McPherson YMCA told members to park in back as road work blocked streets Thursday

The McPherson YMCA stayed open Thursday, Sept. 24, but told members to park in the back lot after street work blocked the roads outside the building. "The roads are blocked off this morning at McPherson YMCA for road work, please park in the back," the YMCA said in a Facebook post that morning, adding that the facility would be open until 9 p.m.

The city announced in early September that it would crack- and chip-seal several downtown streets — a pavement surface treatment — including some streets near the YMCA, and said the work was expected to continue through the month. That project followed the city's late-July closure of a portion of the Hartup and Euclid intersection for repairs.
