The project cost is set not to exceed $43,777.50\. The department chief noted that a drainage study completed by Earl’s Engineering confirmed that water runoff would flow toward Elm Street without causing issues for the surrounding area. --- ### BPU reports progress on electrical and water infrastructure McPHERSON, Kan. - Josh Bedel of the Board of Public Utilities reported that electrical crews are finishing the overhead rebuild on 15th Street between Comanche and Chisholm. Additionally, water crews are finalizing hydrant installations for Fire Station No. 2 and moving a vulnerable hydrant on West Kansas Avenue. Bedel also noted continued success with the city’s lead and copper survey. --- ### Water park splash pad to receive upgrades McPHERSON, Kan. - Staff received authorization to accept a quote from McPherson Quality Air for improvements to the water park splash pad. The upgrades, costing $23,224, will install a self-contained automated water system. This investment aims to enhance the facility’s operation ahead of the next swimming season. --- ### Lakeside Park holiday display and competition announced McPHERSON, Kan. - Facilities director Wayne Burns announced the seventh year of the "Lights from the Heartland" display at Lakeside Park. This year features a new "Great Light Fight" competition for residents and businesses as well as a "Battle of the Badges" decorating contest among emergency services. Burns noted that high winds had temporarily damaged the sheriff’s office display.
