# McPherson Gym Owner Promotes Box Push-ups as Better Alternative to Knee Push-ups

MCPHERSON — Local gym owner Shelly Prescott is recommending box push-ups as a superior alternative to knee push-ups for people working toward standard push-ups. Prescott explains that while there are multiple ways to scale push-up exercises, box push-ups offer better carryover to regular push-ups because they allow exercisers to maintain the same leg and hip position while simply changing the upper body angle. The exercise can be performed using a counter or any other elevated surface already available at home, making it an accessible option for fitness enthusiasts before progressing to more challenging variations.
