The McPherson Firefighters Benefit Association drew 67 vehicles to Lakeside Park on Saturday for an annual car show that combined community outreach with fundraising for local emergency personnel. For a $20 entry fee, participants displayed a wide variety of classics, muscle cars, trucks, Corvettes and Mustangs, with members of the McPherson College C.A.R.S. Club handling the judging. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit uses the proceeds to support local firefighters, and organizers called the weekend's beautiful weather and strong turnout a major success for the department.

In addition to the civilian rides, the McPherson Fire Department showcased its current fleet alongside historic apparatus, including a 1928 American LaFrance and a 1949 Seagrave. On-duty crews spent the afternoon visiting with attendees in the park while remaining ready to respond to emergencies. Following Saturday's strong showing, organizers thanked the community for its ongoing support and announced a new benchmark for next year's benefit, challenging local auto enthusiasts to help them break the 100-vehicle mark.
