MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Fire Chief Chad Mayberry was appointed to a pair of state-level boards by Gov. Laura Kelly to help oversee statewide fire safety standards and honor fallen first responders.

Mayberry will serve on the Governor's Uniform Fire Code Task Force, where he will review and recommend updates to Kansas' fire prevention regulations to improve consistency and life safety. He was also named to the Kansas Fallen Firefighter Memorial Board, which works to preserve the legacy of firefighters who died in the line of duty while serving their communities.
