McPherson College's [Friendship Hall Gallery](https://www.mcpherson.edu/2026/08/mcpherson-college-gallery-showcases-the-work-of-kansas-artist-christina-lamoureaux/?ref=citizenjournal.us) has opened its first exhibit of the academic year, mixed-media work by Kansas artist Christina Lamoureaux, with a public reception Thursday, Sept. 3, before the show closes Monday, Oct. 12.

Earlier that same day, Lamoureaux is scheduled to lead a workshop for McPherson College students that is not open to the general public; the reception follows that evening, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the gallery, which is otherwise open to the public during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

According to the college, her paintings and sculptures use animal motifs and the human figure, and her ideas come from photographs she takes while bicycling and walking prairie trails.
