Staff from the McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Public Lands and Facilities Department traveled to Wichita this week to hone their professional skills at the 2026 Kansas Recreation and Park Association Women’s Leadership Summit. The $75 summit, held Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Botanica Wichita, provided networking and development programming for municipal professionals from across the state. McPherson officials said the city actively encourages such continuing education opportunities to cultivate local leadership among its employees.
