MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson City Cemetery received a Certificate of Meritorious and Distinguished Service from the Veterans of Foreign Wars late last week.

City officials announced the award Monday, July 27, saying it reflects the cemetery staff's daily dedication, compassion and hard work in caring for the final resting places of veterans and community members.

The city praised the workers for preserving the legacy of those who served with continuous dignity and respect.
