# McPherson, Canton-Galva students pitch business ventures at Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

MCPHERSON, Kan. — A concept for activewear made from recycled fabrics earned a McPherson High School student top honors and a bid to state finals during the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge on Dec. 10\. Hosted by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce and Network Kansas at the McPherson Community Building, the event saw students from McPherson and Canton-Galva compete for cash prizes through executive summaries, trade show displays, and presentations to local judges. Allison Randa secured the $600 first-place prize for her business, "Re-Threaded," qualifying her for the Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge at Kansas State University in April. Junior Jayce Gunn took second place and the People’s Choice Award for "The Ratchet Patch," an emergency medical device, while the Canton-Galva team behind "Country JEM Dog Boarding Facilities" finished third.
