[McPherson Board of Public Utilities](https://www.mcphersonpower.com/2026/09/public-power-week-family-night/?ref=citizenjournal.us) will host a free Public Power Week Family Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at 401 W. Kansas Ave. The event will feature bucket truck experiences, live safety demonstrations, giveaways, face painting, games and children's activities. Public Power Week runs Oct. 4-10, according to the [American Public Power Association](https://www.publicpower.org/event/public-power-week?ref=citizenjournal.us).

The first 100 guests will receive a free drink from Midwest Sippin LLC.
