United Way of McPherson County Celebrates 2024 Campaign Success
Local Businesses to be Recognized for Outstanding Generosity in Coming Weeks

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The United Way of McPherson County (UWMC) is thrilled to highlight the exceptional generosity of local businesses throughout the next couple of weeks, beginning with Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, winner of the 2024 Small But Mighty Award for raising the most funds per employee among businesses with 50 or fewer employees. This recognition is part of UWMC's celebration of a remarkably successful Annual Campaign that reached its ambitious $300,000 goal—a significant increase from the previous year's $274,000. The campaign's success was driven by dedicated workplace campaigns at businesses throughout McPherson County, with new Executive Director Laura Parks and Campaign Chair Cindy Goldsmith leading presentations to engage local employers from September through January.
Since 1955, UWMC has fought for the health, education, financial stability, and youth development of every person in McPherson County. The 2024 campaign's success means UWMC can "Give Back Big" in 2025, supporting 19 vital programs across 15 non-profit agencies. These programs range from Meals on Wheels and Special Olympics to newer initiatives like Offender Victim Ministries, which focuses on keeping youth in school. By handling the fundraising burden, UWMC allows these partner agencies to focus on what they do best—providing essential services that strengthen the entire McPherson County community.
