MCPHERSON, Kan. — The top-seeded McPherson High School Lady Bullpups softball team continued their perfect season with a commanding performance at the Class 4A regional tournament, securing their spot in the state championships with two emphatic victories. The Bullpups, who entered regionals with an unblemished 26-0 record, opened the tournament by dismantling Clay Center 14-4 in a run-rule shortened contest that showcased McPherson's explosive offense. Senior Addison Chapman highlighted the powerful hitting display with a home run, while sophomores Rylie Whitfield and Kynedi Huggard also cleared the fences as the Bullpups advanced to the regional championship game.

McPherson completed their regional sweep with an equally impressive 9-2 victory over Mulvane in the title game, extending their perfect season to 28-0 and punching their ticket to the Class 4A state tournament in Salina next week. Sophomore Carmin Pavlovich delivered a decisive blow with a home run that helped secure the regional championship for the Lady Bullpups, who have demonstrated remarkable consistency and dominance throughout their undefeated campaign. With momentum firmly on their side and a perfect record intact, McPherson now turns their attention to Salina, where they'll enter the state tournament as one of the favorites to capture the Class 4A crown.
