Three-Vehicle Fire Extinguished at McPherson Apartment Complex
Wind and tight parking conditions contributed to fire spread; no foul play suspected

McPHERSON, KS — Emergency crews responded to a vehicle fire that spread to multiple cars at Terra Nova Apartments Tuesday morning, ultimately damaging three vehicles before firefighters brought the blaze under control. The McPherson Fire Department, along with McPherson Police Department and McPherson County Sheriff's Office, were dispatched to 1423 Genesis Drive at 9:38 a.m. after reports of a vehicle fire in the apartment complex parking lot.
Upon arrival, first responders found two vehicles fully engulfed in flames, with the fire having already spread to a third vehicle. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze before it could damage additional nearby vehicles. Fire officials cited the close proximity of cars in the parking lot combined with windy conditions as key factors that allowed the fire to spread from the original vehicle. The origin and cause of the initial fire remain under investigation, though authorities have indicated that no foul play is suspected at this time.
