WICHITA, Kan. — McPherson High School junior Caleb Muehler delivered a spectacular performance at the Class 4A State Track Championships, earning four podium finishes including a state championship in the 3200m to cap an outstanding season. Muehler's dominant meet included a second-place finish as part of the school record-setting 4x800 relay team, a third-place medal in the 1600m, and an eighth-place showing in the 800m, demonstrating his remarkable versatility across multiple distance events. The junior's state title performance highlighted his emergence as one of Kansas' premier distance runners and added another championship to his growing collection, while also holding the school record in the 3200m.

Muehler's success at this year's state meet represents the continuation of an already impressive high school career that has seen consistent improvement and championship-level performances. As a freshman, he placed 27th in cross country and earned multiple state medals in track with a sixth-place 4x800, seventh in the 1600m, and fourth in the 3200m. His sophomore campaign saw him capture the state cross country championship while adding an eighth-place 4x800, second-place finishes in both the 1600m and 3200m in track, and he followed up this year by defending his cross country state title before his dominant track performance. With one more year remaining in his high school career, Muehler has established himself as a force to be reckoned with and will undoubtedly be among the favorites in multiple events heading into his senior season.
