The McPherson High School tennis team earned a respectable 4th place finish out of eight teams at the AVCTL Divisions 3 & 4 League Meet on Monday, with Wichita Collegiate taking top honors. In what is widely regarded as one of the toughest leagues in Kansas, the Bullpups demonstrated their competitive spirit with strong performances in both singles and doubles competition. The doubles team of Bryson Archer and Alex Berger led the way with a 3-1 record to capture 3rd place, while Jonas Emery and Mason Eisenbarth secured 4th place with a 2-2 showing. In singles play, Cooper Bohme finished 7th with a 2-2 record, and Manny Morales went 1-2 to place 11th.With the league competition now behind them, the Bullpups turn their attention to Regionals in Scott City, where they’ll aim to qualify for the state tournament. Having competed successfully in one of the state’s most challenging leagues, the McPherson squad will look to leverage this valuable experience as they fight for a spot at the state tournament.
