MCPHERSON 10U SOFTBALL FALLS SHORT IN GOLD BRACKET AT STATE
Young Bullpups cap impressive first season together with strong defensive showing in Wichita

McPHERSON — The McPherson 10U softball team concluded an impressive run at the USSSA C-State tournament in Wichita this past weekend, advancing to the gold bracket before falling in a close contest to the Crusader softball team. The young Bullpups demonstrated their defensive prowess throughout the tournament, holding opponents to just 13 runs combined over the entire weekend. After tying for first place in bracket play, McPherson earned their spot in the championship bracket where they battled competitively before their tournament run came to an end.
The strong state tournament performance caps what has been a remarkable season of growth for this group in their first year playing together as a team. The Bullpups will close out their inaugural campaign this Thursday with a league game in Salina, bringing to an end a season marked by steady improvement and team chemistry. The experience gained at the state level and the defensive discipline displayed throughout the weekend bodes well for the future of this young squad as they continue to develop within the McPherson softball program.
