Flash Flood Warning Issued for McPherson County
Life-threatening flooding expected through 11:30 AM as heavy rains continue

MCPHERSON — The National Weather Service in Wichita issued a Flash Flood Warning for McPherson County Tuesday morning, warning of life-threatening flash flooding through 11:30 AM as Doppler radar shows heavy rainfall has already soaked the area with more precipitation expected. The warning covers McPherson, Lindsborg, Galva, Canton, Marquette, Windom, McPherson Airport and Roxbury, with officials cautioning that thunderstorms are producing dangerous flooding conditions affecting creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Residents are urged not to drive into flooded areas or attempt to go around barricades, as nearly two feet of water can carry most vehicles away — officials stress to "turn around, don't drown."
