Community Foundations Award $195,000 to Local Organizations
June grants support senior centers, libraries, youth programs and heritage preservation across McPherson County

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson County Community Foundation and the Moundridge Foundation distributed over $195,000 in grants to organizations throughout the county in June 2025, addressing needs ranging from senior center safety equipment to historic preservation. The funding came from four different community funds, with the largest single award of $104,000 going to the Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum for their main building roof project through the David J. Nutt Fund.
Local senior centers, schools, and healthcare facilities were among the beneficiaries of the general grants program. The McPherson Senior Center received $10,000 for safety flooring, while the Kansas Learning Center for Health was awarded $8,000 for their "Creating a Healthier Tomorrow" initiative. The Moundridge Community Foundation supported several local organizations including Mercy Hospital with $10,000 for emergency room improvements and the Moundridge Food Pantry with $6,600 for door and window updates. Other notable grants included $17,000 to the Lindsborg Community Library for Heritage Room furnishings and $6,000 to the Marquette Learning Center for new playground equipment, demonstrating the foundations' commitment to enhancing quality of life across all age groups in McPherson County.
