McPHERSON — The McPherson Bullpups varsity trap shooting team concluded their season with a 12th place finish at the state tournament, led by strong individual performances from multiple shooters. Caiden Crosthwaite and Carson Houchen paced the Bullpups with matching scores of 97 out of 100 clays, tying for 15th place in the male varsity category. Landon Schneider also contributed to the team effort, breaking 94 targets to finish 22nd in the highly competitive state field that featured the top shooters from across Kansas.

The junior varsity Bullpups delivered an outstanding performance, capturing the overall state championship to cap off a successful season. Brooke Henry emerged as a standout performer, shooting 88 out of 100 to tie for first place in the JV female category. Krayton Byrd added a solid fifth-place finish in the JV boys division with a score of 91, helping secure the team's championship title. The JV state crown represents a bright future for the McPherson trap shooting program as these young athletes continue to develop their skills.
