BUHLER, Kan. — The McPherson High School track and field teams delivered outstanding performances at the AVCTL Division 3 League Meet hosted by Buhler, with both the boys' and girls' squads capturing second place in the team standings. The Bullpups showcased their depth and talent across multiple events, crowning five individual league champions while demonstrating remarkable teamwork throughout the competition. Leading the way for the girls were Ellie Herrera (high jump), Andi Buschbom (long jump), and Arihanna Koehn (100m hurdles), each claiming league titles in their respective events, while the boys were paced by Caden Wenderott (shot put) and Caleb Muehler (1600m), who also secured individual championships. "I was extremely proud at how our Pups fought and finished throughout the entire meet in both the field and track events," said head coach John Montgomery.

The Bullpups' impressive showing included numerous additional podium finishes that contributed to their team success. For the girls, Kamri Shipman (2nd, triple jump), Arihanna Koehn (2nd, 300m hurdles), Elley Paulsen (3rd, 300m hurdles), Eva Ramey (3rd, 3200m), and Karsen Burris (2nd, javelin) all secured valuable points, while both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams earned second-place finishes. The boys' team saw equally strong contributions from Dylan Hall (2nd, discus), James Fritzmeier (3rd, javelin), Matt Burger (2nd in both 100m and 200m), Caleb Muehler (2nd, 800m), Kayden Friesen (2nd, 400m), Ethan Elder (3rd, 800m), and the 4x100 relay team (3rd). The impressive collective effort demonstrated the Bullpups' commitment and competitive spirit as they continue to build momentum heading into the regional meet.
