# Local officials to set 2027 budget limits, canvass primary election results

NEWTON, Kan. — Local officials are scheduled to tackle major financial and electoral business Tuesday, Aug. 11, with the Newton City Commission set to consider its 2027 [not-to-exceed budget limit](https://www.citizenjournal.us/p/fb1f4764-6329-454c-b5ef-1447e3ef6f8c/) and the Harvey County Commission preparing to [canvass the results of the Aug. 4 primary election](https://www.hvcoksvote.gov/?ref=citizenjournal.us).
