LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Historic Resources Commission approved a certificate of approval for a one-story garage addition at 1657 Indiana St. during its recent meeting. The addition will connect to the historic home via a small hyphenated area, a design choice recommended by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards to clearly distinguish new construction from historic structures. The commission voted 5-0 to approve the project, with two commissioners abstaining.
