Motorists traveling along K-11 in Reno and Kingman counties are facing daytime delays as the Kansas Department of Transportation works to complete a $659,000 chip seal project. The surface upgrades, which began Aug. 12, cover just over 16 miles of highway between the U.S. 54 and K-61 junctions. Kansas City, Missouri-based Vance Brothers is serving as the primary contractor for the roadwork, which is designed to seal the existing pavement and extend the lifespan of the heavily trafficked rural corridor.

During daylight construction hours, traffic is being reduced to a single lane and safely guided through active work zones by flaggers and a pilot car.
