South Hutchinson Extends Registration Deadline for Freedom Fest Competition
June 14, 2025

SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — The City of South Hutchinson has extended the registration deadline through the end of the day on June 16 for its annual Freedom Fest community competition, allowing additional time for teams to sign up for the recreational event.
The Freedom Cup competition features multiple activities including tug-of-war, mud volleyball, kickball, cornhole and a three-legged race. City officials encourage both sponsored and non-sponsored teams to participate in what they describe as "a fun day of friendly competition."
Teams can register as sponsors or pay a one-time registration fee of $150 plus a $10 per-player T-shirt fee. Payments must be made by check and submitted to the City of South Hutchinson with "Freedom Fest" noted in the memo line.
The city has provided an online registration form for non-sponsored teams and individuals interested in participating. Registration information and event details are available through the city's digital platforms.
"There's still time to register for our Freedom Cup events," city officials stated in announcing the deadline extension. "Sponsor or not, grab your team and get ready for a fun day of friendly competition."
Questions about sponsorship opportunities or non-sponsored registration can be directed to Sarah Yoder at sarah.yoder@plotmarketing.co, according to the city's announcement.
The annual Freedom Fest represents one of the community's recreational programming efforts designed to bring residents together for outdoor activities.
The extended registration period provides additional opportunity for community members to form teams and participate in the multi-event competition scheduled for later this summer.
