Reno County seeks public input on Economic Development Plan

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County officials will host a public session this evening, Wednesday, June 18, to gather community input on the county's economic development strategic plan as part of an ongoing planning process.
The session is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall and will be facilitated by Aha! Strategy + Facilitation, a consulting firm working with local officials on the comprehensive plan.
Greater Hutch, the economic development division of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, is coordinating the public engagement effort alongside community partners.
Planning Process Continues
The Wednesday session represents the latest phase in a multi-step planning process that has included focus groups and presentations to local government bodies. Previous sessions were held with the Hutchinson City Council and Reno County Commission.
Officials plan to ask residents for input on several key areas, including current economic strengths and challenges, long-term vision for the county's economic future, and specific steps that could be implemented over the next five years.
Community Partnership
The planning effort involves collaboration between multiple local organizations, including the City of Hutchinson, Hutchinson Community Foundation, City of South Hutchinson, StartUp Hutch, and Reno County government.
Amy Holloway with Aha! Strategy + Facilitation is leading the consultant team working on the strategic plan development.
Public Participation
Wednesday's session is free and open to the public. Organizers are encouraging residents to share their perspectives on the county's economic development priorities and future direction.
The strategic planning process aims to establish a roadmap for economic growth and development initiatives in Reno County over the coming years.
Additional information about the planning process is available through Greater Hutch at 117 N. Walnut in Hutchinson or by calling (620) 662-3391.
