Kelly announces administration appointments


TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly announced Monday seven appointments to the following state committee, authority, cabinet, and board.

Kansas Advisory Committee for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Purpose: 
To provide advice and counsel to the secretary of the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services on issues that improve opportunities for employment and independent living of Kansans who are blind or visually impaired.

  • Aaron Tobias, Clearwater

Kansas Turnpike Authority
Purpose
: To oversee the development and maintenance of the Kansas Turnpike.

  • Julie Lorenz, Lenexa
  • Deb Miller, Topeka (reappointment)

Kansas Children’s Cabinet
Purpose
: To assist the governor in developing and implementing a coordinated, comprehensive service delivery system to serve the children and families of Kansas.

  • Dave Younger, Ulysses

Board of Healing Arts
Purpose
: To regulate the 11 health care professions and to ensure that health care professionals meet and maintain certain qualifications in order to protect the public from incompetent practice, unprofessional conduct, and other proscribed behavior by individuals who have been credentialed to practice in Kansas.

  • Dr. Hana Albrecht, Lawrence
