Hutchinson to host sixth annual Juneteenth celebration and health fair

Hutchinson will host its sixth annual Juneteenth Celebration and Health Fair from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. June 19 at 15 E. 1st Ave.
The two-hour event is organized by Hutchinson Juneteenth Celebration, Hutch In Harmony and other community partners to celebrate freedom, culture and community, according to event organizers.
Activities will include bounce houses and games for children, a health fair hosted by Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, food vendors, music, dancing and entertainment. The event will also feature local vendors and community resources.
Organizers said the celebration aims to honor history, uplift the community and create joyful memories for families while celebrating Juneteenth traditions.
"This is more than just a celebration—it's a time to honor history, uplift our community, and create joyful memories together," organizers said in the event announcement. "Bring your friends, bring your family, and come celebrate Juneteenth the Hutch way!"
The free public event encourages attendees to share photos using the hashtag #HutchJuneteenth2025.
The Hutchinson Art Center will host a Youth Art Contest in conjunction with the celebration. Free art kits will be available at the Hutch Emancipation table during the Juneteenth event for participants to create artwork honoring "The Road to and from Emancipation."
Contest participants can win first, second or third place prizes and have their artwork showcased at the Annual Hutchinson Emancipation Celebration in August. Entry forms are available at the Hutchinson Art Center, and completed artwork can be dropped off starting Monday with a July 19 deadline. The artwork will be displayed in the Art Center Backroom beginning July 19.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and became a federal holiday in 2021.
