Hutchinson Art Center concludes Summer Camp Program

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Art Center wrapped up its second week of Kids Summer Art Camp on Friday, concluding another year of the popular youth program.
The final week focused on various artistic techniques including crayons, oil pastels, colored pencils, paper crafts and printmaking. Students created mixed media pieces throughout the week, with instruction emphasizing experimentation and creative process over final products.

Program Details
Hannah Beam from Beamish Studio served as the primary instructor for the camp, working alongside volunteers and staff members. The program covered both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art techniques during its two-week run.
Students were encouraged to experiment freely with different media, with organizers noting that the creative process took precedence over finished artwork.

Community Support
The art center thanked students, parents, volunteers and staff who participated in making the camp successful. The organization, which has operated since 1949, provides arts programming and gallery space in the community.
Located at 405 N. Washington St., the Hutchinson Art Center supports fine arts and creative activities throughout the year. The facility serves as both an art gallery and educational center for local residents.
The center has announced plans to continue the summer camp program next year, building on what organizers called a successful 2025 session.
