Dillons to give away 92,000 free ice cream pints for Summer Solstice
CINCINNATI — Dillons will distribute 92,000 free pints of ice cream on Friday to celebrate the summer solstice, more than doubling the number of free pints offered in its 2024 promotion.
The grocery chain will release digital coupons starting at noon Eastern time on June 20 through its website and mobile app. Customers must have a free Dillons Plus Shopper's Card to claim the limited-time coupon, which can be redeemed through July 4.
New Flavors Featured
The promotion coincides with Kroger's launch of its "Summer in a Pint" collection, featuring four new flavors designed to evoke summer vacation destinations. The new offerings include Italian Style Summer Fizz, Fireside Nights, Sandy Shores and Poolside Tan Lines.
The retailer is giving away "1,000 pints of ice cream for each of summer's 92 days," according to company materials.
How to Claim Coupon
Customers can visit the company's website or mobile app at 11 a.m. Friday to clip the digital coupon. The free pint offer applies to any Kroger-brand ice cream or sherbet in 16-ounce containers, excluding the premium Private Selection label.
The promotion is available at Kroger stores and select affiliates, though some states and banner stores are excluded from the offer.
Company Expansion
Juan De Paoli, vice president of Our Brands for Kroger, said the promotion reflects that "summer means more time with family, more time by the pool and more time indulging in our favorite treats."
The Cincinnati-based company operates nearly 2,800 retail food stores across 35 states under various banner names. Kroger regularly offers digital coupons and promotional deals through its loyalty program and mobile app.
