Dillons Marketplace in Hutchinson Celebrates Grand Reopening

Dillons Marketplace officially reopened its doors to customers Thursday morning following an extensive renovation project that transformed the longtime grocery store into a modernized shopping destination.
The store, located at 3200 E. Plaza Dr., welcomed shoppers with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Hutchinson city officials, Dillons executives and community members. The renovation project began in March and included updates to the store's layout, equipment and technology systems.
"We're excited to serve the Hutchinson community with an enhanced shopping experience," said Regional Manager Sarah Martinez. "This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with the quality products and services they expect from Dillons."
The updated store features expanded produce and deli sections, new self-checkout stations and improved lighting throughout the facility. The pharmacy department received upgraded equipment and an expanded consultation area for customer privacy.
Store Manager Mike Thompson said the renovation aimed to create a more efficient shopping environment while maintaining the customer service standards the location has provided for more than two decades.
"Our team worked hard to minimize disruption during the renovation process," Thompson said. "We're grateful for our customers' patience and look forward to serving them in our refreshed space."
The Hutchinson Dillons employs approximately 85 people and serves as a primary grocery destination for residents in south-central Kansas. The store's reopening marks the completion of Kroger Co.'s latest investment in its Kansas operations.
Dillons, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger Co., operates more than 60 stores across Kansas. The company has invested millions of dollars in store renovations and new locations throughout the state in recent years.
The grand reopening celebration continues through Sunday with special promotions and giveaways for customers. Store hours remain 6 a.m. to midnight daily.
