2. Brazilian Meat Giant JBS Lists on New York Stock Exchange
JBS, the world's largest meatpacker, began trading on the New York Stock Exchange Friday in a dramatic comeback for the Brazilian company whose founders were once jailed in a corruption scandal. The meat processing titan moved its primary stock listing from São Paulo to New York, seeking cheaper funding and higher share valuations compared to American competitors while expanding its global reach.

3. Kansas Uses First-Ever Blue Alert to Help Capture Shooting Suspect
Kansas law enforcement used the state's new Blue Alert system for the first time to help apprehend a suspect accused of shooting a Missouri police officer, with authorities crediting the program as instrumental in the June 3 arrest of Thomas Eugene Tolbert in Ellis County. The 27-year-old suspect was captured along I-70 in western Kansas after allegedly shooting and critically wounding an officer June 1 in the Kansas City metro area, demonstrating the effectiveness of the alert system designed to help catch violent criminals who target law enforcement.

4. Severe Storm Alert Issued for Kansas Tuesday Evening
Central and northern Kansas face a severe weather threat Tuesday evening and overnight, with forecasters warning of large hail, damaging winds and possible flooding rains following mild overnight storms. Temperatures will reach the 90s Tuesday afternoon with gusty southeast winds before the main storm system arrives, followed by cooler weather Wednesday with highs dropping to the 80s and an early summer heat wave expected later in the week with temperatures climbing into the 90s and low 100s in western Kansas.

5. Missouri Governor Signs Stadium Aid Package for Chiefs, Royals
Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed legislation Saturday providing hundreds of millions in financial aid to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals in the state, responding to Kansas lawmakers who authorized bonds covering up to 70% of new stadium costs to lure the teams across the state line. The package comes as both franchises face expiring leases at the Truman Sports Complex in January 2031, with Jackson County voters having rejected a sales tax extension last year that would have funded stadium renovations and prompted the Royals to purchase property in Kansas as a potential alternative.
