# Flood Warning issued for McPherson County after up to 2 inches of rain

The [National Weather Service in Wichita](https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=KSZ051&warncounty=KSC113&firewxzone=KSZ051&local%5Fplace1=Moundridge%20KS&product1=Flood+Warning&lat=38.2031&lon=-97.5192&ref=citizenjournal.us) issued a Flood Warning at 3:13 p.m. Thursday for McPherson County and parts of Marion, Rice, Chase, and Reno counties. The warning remains in effect until 9:30 a.m. Friday, while the broader Flood Watch remains in effect until midnight. Up to 2 inches of rain had fallen since Wednesday evening, and up to 3 additional inches were possible in the warned area through Thursday evening.

The weather service said localized flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying or flood-prone areas was imminent or occurring.
