Downtown Salina will remain open for business during the fifth annual Salina Crossroads Marathon, which is set to bring thousands of runners to the city on Saturday.

The Boston Marathon qualifying event, featuring multiple race distances that kick off at 8 a.m., has drawn more than 3,400 registrants from across the United States and Canada.

To accommodate the influx of visitors while keeping local shops accessible, organizers have designated parking behind downtown businesses with access from Fifth and Seventh streets.
