# Downtown McPherson streets close Thursday for Trick-or-Treat Main Street

Downtown McPherson streets will begin closing at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, ahead of Trick-or-Treat Main Street, scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The McPherson Police Department announced the closures in an Oct. 27 Facebook post that included a closure map.

Visit McPherson describes the trick-or-treat route — not the official closure area — as extending from the 300 block of South Main Street to the 300 block of North Main Street. For questions about the event or participating merchants, contact McPherson Main Street at 620-241-7430.

Police urged drivers to watch for witches, ghouls, and other costumed pedestrians and to drive carefully.

The McPherson Optimist Club [Halloween Carnival](https://www.citizenjournal.us/main-street-trick-or-treating-optimist-club-halloween-carnival-set-for-thursday/) is also scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the McPherson Community Building, 122 E. Marlin St.
