# Downtown chip seal closures extend into this week on Main and East Marlin

Sections of downtown McPherson — Main Street from Kansas Avenue to First Street and East Marlin Street — will be intermittently closed starting Monday, Sept. 21, and for the next couple of days for chip seal maintenance, the city said in a Facebook post that asked drivers to plan alternate routes. The work has run past the Friday, Sept. 18, finish date the city announced last week, when it said chip sealing would cover Main, Euclid, and Marlin streets with temporarily limited parking and traffic. Public Works Coordinator Kim Isbell said crews hope to finish by the end of this week, weather permitting.
