# Bullpups XC Boys, Girls Each Place 9th in Salina

SALINA, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys and girls cross country teams each finished ninth Saturday in Salina, competing against several larger schools. On the boys side, Tripp Pelzel earned a medal with a fifth-place finish in 17:23, while Xavier Hartinger placed 25th in 17:48 — both recording lifetime PRs — and Isaiah Ortiz (64th, 18:59), Nathan Friesen (66th, 19:03), Oren Klein (67th, 19:07), Jonas Emery (72nd, 19:21) and Maxton Nelson (75th, 19:25) rounded out the varsity seven; in JV action, Connor Forsberg led McPherson with a 19th-place finish in 19:36\. The Bullpups girls were paced by Kamryn Prescott (22nd, 21:41) and Adeline Kramer (25th, 21:53), with Eliza Jex (43rd, 22:47), Ella Wyssmann (48th, 22:57) and Molly Owen (69th, 24:47) also competing, as McPherson looks to build on its performance heading into the postseason next week.
