1. Israel Strikes Iran's Nuclear Program, Kills Top Commanders
Israel launched a massive pre-dawn military operation against Iran on Friday, deploying over 200 aircraft in "Operation Rising Lion" to target nuclear facilities and military installations across the country. The strikes completely destroyed the Natanz uranium enrichment facility while leaving the more heavily fortified underground Fordow plant intact. Several senior Iranian military commanders were killed, including Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami and likely Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri, with Israeli officials reporting that most of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force leadership was eliminated in underground command center strikes.
Iran retaliated by launching over 100 drones against Israel, though most were intercepted, and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vowed further punishment while quickly appointing replacement military commanders. President Trump, who had prior knowledge of the operation, told Fox News that "there are several people in their leadership that will not be coming back" to negotiations, as Iran withdrew from nuclear talks scheduled for this weekend. The scale of military losses and infrastructure damage, combined with reports of fuel shortages in Tehran, has led observers to speculate that the Iranian regime may face unprecedented pressure threatening its stability.

2. Trump Acknowledges Farmer, Hotel Labor Shortage Amid "Aggressive" Immigration Policy
Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace. In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming! -@realDonaldTrump
Editors note: this is a notable statement. Trump acknowledges the complex reality of illegal immigration. Of the tens of millions here illegally, many work in agriculture, hospitality, and other sectors critical to overall economic health. Deporting all these people would likely damage the economy. There are two factions in the GOP coalition: immigration hardliners like Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller, and more moderate, business-Republicans. Trump must balance the two camps; the former has the numbers but the latter has the money.

3. Senator Handcuffed, Forcibly Removed From Trump Admin Press Conference
LOS ANGELES—Sen. Alex Padilla (D., Calif.) was forcibly ejected from a press conference Thursday and handcuffed after he tried to confront a top administration official over President Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city. Padilla attempted to interrupt Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s remarks at the event and was grabbed and removed by several men. Noem and others were addressing immigration raids and the federal response to protests that have spread across the city, saying they would forge ahead with their operations. “I am Sen. Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary,” Padilla shouted while being removed from the room. Video shows him then being placed on the ground and handcuffed. He was later released without being charged. The incident sparked a firestorm on Capitol Hill, where Democrats pointed to it as an example of what they have called the administration’s authoritarian impulses, days after Trump ordered National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles to quell disorder, over the objections of state officials. DHS said Secret Service officers weren’t initially aware Padilla was a senator when they removed him, and some Republicans painted his actions as a stunt.

4. Appeals Court Allows Trump to Keep National Guard in LA; Massive Protests Planned
A. SAN FRANCISCO — An appeals court late Thursday allowed President Donald Trump, for now, to keep the California National Guard deployed in response to protests in Los Angeles, blocking a federal judge’s move just hours earlier that ordered the Trump administration to return control of the troops to California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
B. Boasting tanks, cannons, soldiers and fireworks, President Trump’s military parade Saturday is designed to be a spectacle. Opponents to Trump want their nationwide protests that day to be an even bigger one. Progressive groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, American Federation of Teachers, Planned Parenthood and Sen. Bernie Sanders’s campaign office are planning peaceful protests in over 2,000 cities across the U.S. Dubbed “No Kings Day,” these demonstrations aim to reject what organizers say is Trump’s overreach. Event leaders expect turnout to pass April’s “Hands Off” protests, which drew at least 3.5 million participants. That would potentially mark the largest opposition display of Trump’s second term, rivaling the Women’s March of his first term.

5. Former NFL Star Antonio Brown Sought on Attempted Murder Charge
MIAMI – Law enforcement in Miami-Dade County is seeking to arrest former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, according to a warrant reviewed by The Washington Post. The charge stems from a shooting Brown was allegedly involved in during a celebrity boxing event in Miami last month. The warrant shows a charge of attempted murder with a firearm; it also instructs Brown to post a $10,000 bond and remain on house arrest until trial, according to The Post. Brown was detained by police after gunshots were fired at the boxing event, which was hosted by online streamer Adin Ross. Brown was seen fighting with several people on a video posted to social media, and gunshots could clearly be heard after the altercation. Police released Brown after a few hours, and he posted an explanation to social media the following day.
