# 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Claims Patriot League North Title

HAYSVILLE, Kan. — The McPherson Middle School eighth-grade girls volleyball team won the Patriot League North Tournament on Thursday, finishing the season a perfect 19-0\. The Bullpups defeated Augusta (30-28, 26-24), Haysville West (25-10, 25-13) and Circle (25-14, 25-23) before rallying past Prairie Hills in a three-set championship match, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8, at Haysville Middle School. Key contributors throughout the tournament included Luci Redden and Cayson Harlin at the serving line, middle hitters Kayleigh Dilli and Cali Melton at the net, setters Hayden Vogelsberg and Elin Schmidt — whose stellar serving helped erase a 17-24 deficit against Augusta — and back-row defenders Macie Reinwald and Hayden Allen. "I've been so grateful to coach such an upbeat and enthusiastic Bullpup team this year," said coach Christine Pianalto, who added she looks forward to watching the group compete at McPherson High School next season.
