# 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Bullpups Go 4-0 at Rose Hill

ROSE HILL, Kan. — The McPherson Middle School 8th grade girls volleyball teams each went 2-0 Monday at a triangular hosted by Rose Hill, also featuring Augusta, with both the A and B squads improving their records on the season.

The A Team (13-0) defeated Augusta 25-17, 25-15 before edging Rose Hill in a three-set thriller, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12\. The Bullpups overcame early hitting errors against Augusta, steadied by passing from Luci Redden and Cayson Harlin, while Leah Jackson delivered kills and setter support throughout. Against Rose Hill, strong hitting from Kayleigh Dilli, Cali Melton and Elin Schmidt proved decisive. 'I'm so proud that the Bullpups came out with a win from this game, they played with heart, confidence, and high energy, digging deep for every point,' said coach Christine Pianalto.

The B Team (11-2) topped Augusta 25-19, 26-24 and rolled past Rose Hill 25-14, 25-9, with Auri Perryman and Sophie Vogt leading the way in aces at key moments. 'I am really proud of the girls and the way they came out and played,' said coach Brittany Baum, noting the team overcame a hot bus ride and a schedule change before finding its footing. The B Team travels to Maize South Middle School for a tournament Saturday before the full 8th grade squad closes the regular season Oct. 5 at home against El Dorado and Wellington.
